Creation

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth

On the first day he created light.
On the second day he created the sky. 
On the third day he raised the land out of the water. 
On the fourth day he created the sun, moon and stars. 
On the fifth day he filled the oceans and the sky with living creatures. 
On the sixth day he created land animals and ultimately humans. 
On the seventh day he rested and set it aside as a day of rest for all time.

When God looked at his creation he saw that everything was good – perfect – exactly as he had planned it.

Lucifer’s Fall

However, one of God’s three top angels – Lucifer became proud and rebelled, seeking to be honoured above God himself.  Lucifer was removed from his position in heaven and became known as Satan or the Devil.  A third of the angels had sided with him and were also removed from their positions in heaven with him. 

God has made a place for Satan and his cohorts, called hell, where they will be punished forever for their rebellion.  But for now, God has allowed these rebels to interact with his creation to prove those who will remain loyal to God and are worthy of living with him for eternity.
