Why I believe the Bible is true
Hey guys, I’ve been waiting for so long for my latest book to arrive, and now it’s here – yay. It’s called “Why I Believe the Bible Is True”. It’s a hundred pages long with lots of pictures, diagrams and references.
I’ve also updated my first book “The Story of the Bible” with Bible references and a new cover. This summarizes the story of the Bible, from creation to new creation in a one-hour read, with a focus on how everything connects together.
I have copies of both books, which I’m happy to loan to you or you can buy them from me for 10 dollars each. These are really handy to leave lying around for curious hands to pick up.
These are also available on Amazon.com/author/bretanark. The Kindle version is really useful to click into the many references, and costs about 5 kiwi dollars. Kindle has a free app for computers, phones and tablets.
As a software engineer, I am often asked how I reconcile the Bible with science. Many think the two are mutually exclusive. I often answer questions in defence of the truth of the Bible. This book compiles my answers into a cohesive argument covering various sciences, logic, philosophy, law, history, recently fulfilled prophecy and my personal experiences. This book presents the problem, particularly of billions of years of evolutionism versus six thousand years of Biblical history. It explains why I disagree with mainstream academia, and how I fit ancient history into the Biblical narrative.
I don’t expect you to agree, in fact, I urge you not to take my word for it, but investigate these arguments to come to your own conclusion. As I’m no authority on any of the fields discussed, I provide heaps of references to the authoritative sources that I draw upon.
The main theme is that “science” has not disproven the Bible. Evolutionism is a popular, well collaborated philosophy, which contradicts the Bible; but it also contradicts the actual scientific evidence and scientific laws. The evidence, in fact, supports the Bible. Consider that museums proudly display the remains of creatures buried all around the world by catastrophic flood conditions. I mean how much mud does it take to bury a herd of huge dinosaurs, so much that they are not scavenged before that mud hardens. Since this philosophy is faulty, we should not, need not, in fact must not fit our understanding of the Bible, to it. To do so severely undermines our trust that the Bible is true, including Jesus’ virgin birth, death and resurrection, which all fulfilled ancient prophecies; and it casts doubt on our resurrection to live with Jesus in Heaven for eternity.
2,000 years ago, evolutionism was prophesied in
2 Peter 3:5 “But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6By these waters also the world of that time was flooded and destroyed.”
I hope you enjoy these books.
See ya.
