Judges
After Joshua died, Israel had no ruler for a few hundred years. They forgot their God and as a result were often overrun by peoples from the surrounding lands that they had not subdued. In response to this God raised up various Judges to lead Israel back to God and victory. Some of these Judges are Samson and Gideon. Judges
